Thierry Small

  3. Age:- 17

Thierry Small made his first-team debut was against Sheffield Wednesday on 24 January 2021 as a late substitute on a 3–0 FA Cup win making him the youngest Everton player in history at the age of 16 breaking Jose Baxter’s 2008 record by 15 days.

He signed for Southampton F.C. for a 3 years contract on 24 August 2021 for £90Th.

He has a good ball control ability and has top-notch speed, he can even play as a left-wing-back because of his speed in a 3–4–1–2 formation.

Sometimes while carrying the ball on the wing he hardly looks up, he can be selfish which won’t benefit him while putting crosses.

His defending tackles are on time but I won't say it's perfect tho. He is 17 well a year older than me. His game style is good and he can defiantly do much better in due course of time, what surprised me was that there were clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United interested in him and they couldn't sign him well I do understand the situation of Manchester United because I support Manchester United but Arsenal I think they needed players like him in their team. He is young and he does have a lot of time to get experience. The way he plays I defiantly see him signing for big clubs and winning trophies.

Small For Southampton.

Small has played 38 matches scoring 9 goals and 3 assists which isn't bad for a defender at his age. His small ball-carrying style resembles Adam Traore and I guess I am the only one who finds it similar because they both play at a different position. Small has great potential and if he earns his first-team place then he is sure to get his England first team call up. Small will defiantly have huge competition for first-choice left-back for England Luke Thomas of Leicester City, Brandom Williams of Manchester United, Luke Chambers of Liverpool,

👆I just loved the way he was dribbling and gave an incredible assist ☝️

He is very good in 1v1 situations and makes timely challenges that are quite risky but he makes it look easy, he got dribblings skills too.

The left wing-back was instrumental in attack and defence as Southampton won two of their three Division 2 matches. The 17-year-old scored as they beat Newcastle United 5–0, before registering an assist in a 3–1 win over West Bromwich Albion. He also found the net in a 4–0 EFL Trophy victory at Crawley Town. Here is what I conclude, Everton made a huge mistake by selling him but for a player it was a good step taken by Small, to take new challenges which will help him improve his game and develop a game sense. As I said he has huge potential to be a great left-back, which won’t be easy cause he will have to prove his worth and talent.

Small was just 16 years and 176 days old on his Everton debut against Sheffield Wednesday

Small was just 16 years and 176 days when he came on as a late substitute against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup last January, breaking the club record held by Jose Baxter
