Rise or Downfall of Sébastien Haller?

Sébastien Haller a professional footballer who plays for Ajax in Eredivisie league. Haller had an amazing career in Frankfurt which made West Ham United buy him for €50.00m unfortunately things didn't go as they played, he had a devasting season with the Hammers as he marked 53 appearances,14 goals and 3 assists. While at Frankfurt he made 77 appearances 33 goals and 19 assists alongside Luka Jovic and Ante Rebic, 2 years ago they were a deadly trio in the football world. Check this tweet below

All three went separate ways and 2 of them flopped in the first season as they could not adopt the style and pressure and one was decent according to their stats. In the 19/20 season, Haller scored 14 goals 3 assists, Luka Jovic 2 goals 2 assists in 27 appearances and Rebic made 30 appearances 12 goals and 4 assists.

Manuel Pellegrini brought Sebastien Haller from Frankfurt but he got sacked on 28 December 2019 after a home defeat by the Leister city their 9th loss in the last 12 games in that season. On the next day West Ham United appointment David Moyes as their manager. According to Daily Mail ‘We got an offer we weren’t expecting’: David Moyes admits West Ham had to sell struggling striker Sebastien Haller to Ajax because they were worried they wouldn’t get the same fee in future… despite taking a £15m LOSS on a player only bought in 2019.

Haller under Pellegrini played in 4–1–4–1 and 4–4–2formation while David Moyes played under 4–2–3–1 and 4–4–1–1.

Check these stats shows the difference in his performances

At Ajax, he made 22 appearances and scored 12 goals with 7 assists for the team. But unfortunately, Ajax confirmed to ESPN NL that Haller was mistakenly left off of the Europa League 25-man roster.” It is indeed true that Haller is not on our Europa League list of players,” an Ajax said. “We are working with the KNVB and UEFA to find out where things went wrong.”
